From a young age, I knew I wanted a creative career. Drawing in textbooks and editing images for fun were my early outlets, eventually leading me toward graphic design. Before UX piqued my interest, I chose graphic design as my path to stay rooted in art and creativity. Initially self-taught, I started designing anime-themed socks, which was exciting yet challenging due to deadlines. This early experience, paired with my formal education at the University of North Texas, set me on a more disciplined path and gave me the confidence to enter the design world.
After graduating, I joined marketing teams at tech companies and now work in the mortgage industry, where I’ve honed a broad skill set, primarily in branding and logo design. Recently, through DesignLab’s UX course, I’ve been exposed to data gathering and user research, which has added a fascinating dimension to my design work. Understanding user needs and using those insights to solve real problems has shown me how UX can make an impact.
I’m excited to see where a UX career might lead me. I am to deepen my passion for design but also gain the skills to create meaningful, impactful products. I look forward to using UX to tell stories through a refined, user-centered approach, creating designs that can truly resonate with and benefit others.
